On May 26th 2007 the Gail D. Cox Community Center at Big Falls Lodge was dedicated to those who desire to spend more quality time in their community. Whether for leisure, education, celebration or a business meeting, Big Falls Lodge provides the environment required by serious folks. VFCCi sponsors many classes and events, most currently held at Big Falls Lodge and free or sharply discounted to VFCCi members. Private classes and seminars are also offered. Members also receive discounts and incentives from most local businesses as well as low rates when renting Big Falls Lodge. The VFCCi Board of Directors continues the mission of providing opportunities and jobs within the community of Forest Falls. If you wish to be listed as a service provider, download an application from our Big Falls Lodge page.
On the horizon is the acquisition of the “old Fallsvale School”, our historical stone school house built with community volunteer labor around 1933, destined for a complete rehabilitation including earthquake retrofitting, to allow the site to operate as a day care / latch key facility targeted to open in 2012 or 2013.
VFCCi objectives include just about something for everyone; Day Care and Latch Key for children, Parks & Recreation services, Seniors’ events, Adult School and College extension classes, Disaster Response training and more. Celebrate “Big Falls Day”, our annual membership drive that includes Gail's Crafts on the Saturday of our Earth Day/Canyon Clean Up event.
