And This is Our Story...

Love Jones' unique pop style can turn any space into a smoky little cocktail lounge in a matter of moments... just add your beverage of choice and bring your dancing shoes.

Love Jones, straight out of Louisville, KY, took Los Angeles by storm in 1992, brimming with self-confidence (and various distilled spirits). Following a typically ribald set with Tool at the Church of Scientology's Celebrity Center in Hollywood, they were offered a recording contract with ZOO Entertainment/BMG. They took the bait.

Two gloriously eclectic pop/lounge concoctions followed. Here's to the Losers was the first release of a wave of lounge-style bands that the press dubbed the "Cocktail Nation." The album's unique melding of soulful pop hooks with Vegas attitude caught the attention of such national media outlets as Newsweek and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and earned the band rave reviews. The band's second album, Powerful Pain Relief emphasized the band's R&B influences, with nods to Earth Wind and Fire, Al Green, and Chic.

Love Jones continues to win fans across the nation with its high-energy live shows, a wild hybrid of Rat Pack cool, R&B revue and punk attitude.

In addition to their recording work and live performances, Love Jones appeared in the Miramax film, Since You've Been Gone, starring Teri Hatcher and Cineville's French Exit, starring Jonathan Silverman. Their music can also be heard in the Miramax cult hit Swingers and BMG Films' The Pompatous of Love.

The band's national tours have included opening slots with Sony's The Presidents of the United States of America and Elektra's The Afghan Whigs.

Television appearances include: Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Entertainment Tonight, MTV's Singled Out and Week In Rock, and Extra.
